Group Tours

Williamsport and Lycoming County wish to welcome each and every group to experience our history, culture and tradition. Lycoming County is located in north central Pennsylvania nestled in the Appalachian Mountains and along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The Williamsport historic district is home to Millionaires’ Row, the Rowley House Museum, the brand new Peter Herdic Transportation Museum and the Thomas T. Taber Museum which can all be visited along with an enjoyable ride on the Herdic Trolley. Williamsport is also home to Little League Baseball and every August, we are hosts to thousands of people attending the Little League World Series. If you can’t make it for the World Series, the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum is open daily to groups of all ages. Water and history lovers will enjoy a cruise on the picturesque Susquehanna River aboard the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat. Aboard the Hiawatha you will gain an understanding of the area’s importance to the building of our nation during the mid and late 1800’s. With an abundance of wonderful restaurants, both chain and family owned, there is an option for any group to have an exceptional meal. Lycoming County has plenty of lodging for any size group for any price range as well, from nationally recognized chain hotels to an historic hotel with European charm.

1 Day Itinerary

Arrive in Williamsport and begin your day’s adventure with a lunch buffet aboard the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat and cruise down the beautiful Susquehanna River listening to the rich history of the area. After lunch, board an historic Williamsport Trolley and enjoy a “Journey Through Time” tour that includes historic homes, a friendly tour guide, and visit to the Thomas T. Taber Historical Museum. Afterwards visit the Rowley House Museum, the Peter Herdic Transportation Museum or the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum. Finish your day with a tour and tasting at Bastress Mountain Winery, one of our local wineries and sample the refreshing and original blends of wine. 2 Day Itinerary

Arrive in Williamsport in time to enjoy a delicious lunch at the historic Peter Herdic House. After lunch, board a Williamsport Trolley with one of our friendly step-on guides and tour the nationally recognized historic district of Millionaires’ Row. Following the tour the trolley will transport you to the Thomas T. Taber Historical Museum for a guided tour. Afterwards why not visit the Rowley House Museum, the Peter Herdic Transportation Museum or the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum. Following a full day of sightseeing, enjoy dinner at one of many delicious restaurants. In the evening, take a stroll through downtown and admire Inspiration: Lycoming County a large mural depicting the history of our area before retiring for the evening.

Spend your next day shopping at many of our distinct shops. Downtown Williamsport offers a variety of stores to shop for something for yourself or that perfect gift. Visit Katie’s Country Store, Olde Barn Centre and the County Store for antiques and local goods. For the outlet shoppers, visit Cobblers Shoe Outlet and the Woolrich Outlet Store. Finally, enjoy a served or buffet style lunch aboard the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat and relax with a 1 hour narrated trip down the beautiful Susquehanna River. Historic District Tours:

Millionaires’ Row Tour

This 1 or 1 ½ hour tour is aboard your motorcoach with a step on guide. Listen as our guides tell you of the rise and fall of the lumber barons in the 1800’s. Visit 1 or 2 of the exquisite mansions or churches found on Millionaires’ Row.

Journey Through Time

This 2 hour tour showcases the Victorian mansions and history of Williamsport’s lumber barons in the 1880’s aboard one of our historic trolleys. In your first hour, listen as your step on guide details the rich history of this area. Spend the second hour with a tour of the Thomas T. Taber Historical Museum.
